Part 2 -> Vain beauty

This world is too vain
So I want to be beautiful
The inside never counts
It is only a figment of imagination
What we hope people to judge
But you are looking at my face
Sizing me up
I see your eyes
That nasty brow
That gazed stare
There’s a ring of jealousy
On your lips,
There’s beauty on me
So you hate
But adore
If I was ugly
You would show me the door
But beauty is everything
To you
To I
So I’d rather be the swan
Than the ugly duckling
Please know my heart is there
But you don’t see it
What you see is me
But what you see can grow old
It can shrivel
It can disappear
But beauties everything
To you
To I
The world is too vain
So I want to be beautiful
I want to be loved
